Young leaders program looking for candidates
With the right training and experiences, young farmers can provide meaningful input into agricultural discussions and policy changes at the local, provincial and national levels.
The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) is continuing a program for farmers aged 18 to 40 to help cultivate the next generation of agricultural and community leaders. The 2026 APAS Young Leaders (AYL) Program provides guidance on policy development and firsthand experience in agricultural governance and advocacy.
Participants receive governance credentials to help them become effective leaders at all levels of government.
Emiley Saunders from Borden, Sask., was part of the 2023-24 program year. She said the experience covers several areas.
