“White’s background and understanding of both conventional and organic farming systems will strengthen the organization’s leadership team,” Ralph said in a statement. 

Ralph also thanked Bott for his commitment to POGA and his work on behalf of oat producers throughout Western Canada.

White said he is looking forward to working alongside Ralph and the POGA board as the organization continues to advocate for producers. He said his work with SaskOats provided opportunities to collaborate with farmers and industry partners, experience he hopes to bring to the national organization while supporting growers and advancing the long-term growth of the oat industry will remain key priorities.

The appointment also marks a milestone for the Prairie Oat Growers Association. For the first time since the organization adopted its co-presidency model in 2024, both Co-Presidents are from Saskatchewan.

POGA is a producer-led organization representing oat growers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The organization funds oat research and market development while serving as the Canadian voice for oats on national and international issues affecting producers.
