Specialized fly larvae facility in production in Alberta
A dedicated black soldier fly (BSF) egg production facility is now operating in Bassano, Alta.
FairGene is a joint venture between NRGene Canada and Fairville Farming Co. The company combines advanced insect genetics with large-scale agricultural production to supply high-yield insect eggs to the global alternative protein and animal feed industries.
Black soldier fly larvae decompose food scraps, agricultural byproducts and manure, converting them into high-protein animal feed and nutrient-rich organic fertilizer.
The facility has begun producing BSF eggs with positive initial results and is designed to supply producers worldwide using NRGene Canada’s MaxBSF™ genetics.
