MELFORT, Sask. — The fiftieth edition of Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) in Regina will include a jam packed six days of events in Regina, Sask.

CWA will kick off on Nov. 28 with all-day free gate admission, courtesy of CN Rail, and the Burning of the Brand ceremony, taking place at 10:00 a.m. to officially open the show.

CWA’s Education Program will also return where 10,000 urban and rural school kids will attend the show for hands-on learning experiences about agriculture and its value chain.

CWA president, Kim Hextall, said registration for CWA’s Education Program will open for teachers in early September.

“Education is a core pillar at Agribition,” Hextall said. “We can’t wait to welcome back thousands of school kids and to give them an opportunity to learn about their food’s journey, from farm to plate.”

The Maple Leaf Finals Rodeo will return to the rodeo arena, Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, featuring top tier rodeo athletes, the best rodeo stock in Canada, and a new theme for each night.

Admission for Wednesday night’s rodeo performance is free and will highlight Saskatchewan’s Indigenous culture and heritage. Thursday night’s rodeo will be dedicated to Saskatchewan’s first responders, and Friday’s performance will celebrate Saskatchewan’s energy sector. The final night of rodeo, Championship Saturday will wrap up the Maple Leaf Finals Rodeo circuit, crowning the circuit’s rodeo stars.

The Agribition party will continue after Friday and Saturday night’s rodeo performances, with two chances to ‘Party on the Dirt’.

CWA CEO, Shaun Kindopp, said the fan-favourite cabaret, Party on the Dirt, will have music, drinks, dancing, and a mechanical bull.

“Party on the Dirt is such a unique experience, and we are excited to offer Agribition-goers another opportunity to get their boots dirty and wrap up Agribition with a western-style celebration,” Kindopp said.

All tickets and admission passes can be purchased from the CWA office, online at agribition.com, or at the Brandt Centre box office.

Anyone purchasing a ticket by Aug. 24 will also be entered to win two tickets to the Kane Brown concert in December.
