Regina, SK – To celebrate their 75th anniversary, Redhead Equipment was looking for a special way to celebrate this major milestone while also having an ‘attitude of gratitude.’ On Monday, June 12 they held their first, annual Heavy Hitter Charity Classic at Wascana Country Club in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan (RMHC-SK). Combining sponsorships, registrations, and fundraising throughout the day, they raised $78,000. Through the generosity of the Redhead and Wallace families, Redhead Equipment matched those funds for a total donation of $156,000. Inspired by the day’s events, a customer of Redhead Equipment donated $5,000 the following day. Another person was inspired shortly after, donating $2,000. Both donations were matched for a new total of $170,000.

“The tournament brought together individuals and organizations from all walks of life, united in our shared commitment to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most,” says Craig Slobodian, Chief Operating Officer for Redhead Equipment. He adds, “The support we received from our manufacturers, suppliers and customers was incredible; our success depends on them and because of them, we can give back to the communities that support us.”

Through eleven locations across Saskatchewan, Redhead Equipment does business in every community in the province and beyond. When choosing a charity to partner with, they looked to find one that can benefit every one of those communities. Through their house in Saskatoon and Family Room in Prince Albert, RMHC-SK supports families from hundreds of Saskatchewan communities every year. It is the hope this donation can help RMHC-SK continue to expand their support across Saskatchewan. “We could not do the work we do at Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan without the generosity of the Saskatchewan people,” says Tammy Forester, CEO of RMHC-SK. She adds, “Redhead embodies the Saskatchewan spirit of generosity in all they do. Their support to all Saskatchewan families is admirable and we are so very grateful for their partnership – past and present. Together we will continue to serve families and help make their journey just a little bit easier.”

While Redhead Equipment has thrived and grown over 75 years, they are very proud of what they were able to accomplish through this Charity Classic. “We knew this year had to be about giving back and being grateful for the past 75 years. We also look forward to seeing what the next 75 bring,” says Slobodian.
