Drainage webinars help Saskatchewan farmers plan future projects

Dec 20, 2021 | 3:16 PM

MELFORT, Sask. — Online workshops designed to help ranchers and farmers with water management are now available.

The Water Security Agency (WSA), with the support of Natural Resources Canada, are offering the webinars until April 2022.

AgH2Onward offers two half-day sessions that describe the process and benefits of drainage approvals, and techniques to best manage water on their land.

The workshops will also assist with the considerations and regulator requirements for drainage approvals and how the use of a qualified person can help with the approval process.

The workshops will help producers plan agricultural drainage projects that are adapted and resilient to weather extremes, such as floods and droughts, while increasing productivity.

Producers can learn more and register here.
