Jan 7, 2019 | 5:00 PM

Erin Gowriluk is the new leader of the Grain Growers of Canada (GGC).

Gowriluk has an extensive background in agriculture policy having worked with the Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions as well as the Alberta Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.  Most recently she was with Syngenta Canada.

Gowriluk will manage GGC’s day-to-day operations as well as advocacy, and policy work on behalf of 65,000 Canadian grain farmer members.

GGC Chair Jeff Neilson said Gowriluk is a strong leader.

“Erin is already well known and respected in our industry. She will bring a tremendous amount to the role as she implements the new organizational framework developed during our recent year-long strategic review,” Neilson said.

Gowriluck said she appreciates the opportunity.

“I am proud to join GGC’s strong, almost 20-year history of advocacy, and look forward to working collectively and collaboratively towards the achievement of our sector’s full growth potential,” Gowriluck said.
