The United States Department of Agriculture lowered world wheat production by 4.5 million metric tonnes.

According to the Sask Wheat market outlook, the change came as a result of decreases in Turkey, the EU, Russia and Kazakhstan. The revisions were all made because of dryness causing lower yields. Production increases were seen in the U.S., Ukraine and Argentina.

Overall, global ending stocks were reduced 1.1 million metric tonnes, which continues to be a record amount and 11 million metric tonnes more than last year.
