Scholarship program helps students pursue post secondary

Applications are open for the 2027 Agriculture Student Scholarship, with four scholarships available: $6,000 for first place and three runner-up awards of $3,000 each.

Carson Green, the 2026 scholarship grand prize winner, said it’s worth the effort to apply.

“It’s a great opportunity for students to get their ideas out there and be heard,” Green said. “If young people get involved early, it benefits the industry as a whole.”

This year’s theme, solutions to challenges in agriculture, asks students to share innovative ways to address issues facing the industry through technological innovation, collaboration, public engagement and education.

Applicants must submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. Eligible applicants are Grade 12 students or recent high school/CAEC graduates from the past two school years — graduates of 2025, 2026 or 2027 — who live in Saskatchewan and plan to begin agriculture-related post-secondary education in fall 2027.

Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit said supporting tomorrow’s agriculture leaders is essential to the province’s long-term success.

“The Agriculture Student Scholarship recognizes outstanding students and celebrates their contributions to the future of the industry,” Marit said.

The application deadline is Mar. 1, 2027. More information on the Agriculture Student Scholarship Program is available here.

The awards are funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership
