Shaping the future of the pulse and oilseed sectors.

Farmers invited to join Saskatchewan pulse and oilseed boards

Jun 1, 2026 | 3:41 PM

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) and SaskOilseeds (SKO) are inviting nominations for their boards of directors.

Both organizations are encouraging registered producers to put their names forward and help shape the future of Saskatchewan’s pulse and oilseed sectors.

The SPG board has nine farmer-elected directors, while the SKO board has eight.

This year, nominations are open for three positions on the SPG board and four on the SKO board. SPG directors serve three-year terms and may be re-elected twice, while SKO directors serve four-year terms and may be re-elected once.

Eligible nominees must be registered producers who have sold a pulse crop and paid levy to SPG since Sept. 1, 2023. For SKO, producers must have sold canola and/or flax from Aug. 1, 2024, to July 31, 2026, and not requested a levy refund in the past year.

Directors on both boards provide strategic oversight and governance. Their work includes attending board meetings, serving on committees, taking appointments to external industry-related boards and representing the organization at industry events.

Information on submitting a pulse nomination is available here. SKO nomination information is available on its website

The application deadline is noon on Sept. 11, 2026.

Terms begin following each commission’s annual meeting in January 2027.
