Miss Rodeo Agribition crowned Miss Rodeo Canada

Oct 10, 2025 | 10:46 AM

A woman from Edam, Sask. is the new Miss Rodeo Canada 2026.

Abbey Harty was crowned during the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) on Oct. 3 in Edmonton at Rogers Place.

Harty’s win is historic. She is only the third rodeo queen from Saskatchewan to earn the national title and the first from Canadian Western Agribition, since the Miss Rodeo Canada program began in 1955.

Harty said winning Miss Rodeo Canada isn’t just a dream come true.

“It’s proof that where you start never limits how far you can go. I’m forever grateful to my family for standing beside me, and I’m so excited to represent our nation after carrying my provincial title with pride,” she said. “To have earned the title of Miss Rodeo Canada 2026 while wearing the Agribition crown is something I will always be proud of.”

The Miss Rodeo Canada competition tests contestants in several categories, including a personal interview, horsemanship, public speaking, a written exam, modelling, and personality. Harty excelled across all areas, showcasing her knowledge, skill, and passion for the rodeo and agricultural way of life.

Agribition Livestock and Rodeo Director Kylie Beck said in 2023 Agribition created a program designed to select a year-round ambassador for the show and the western way of life.

“The first Miss Rodeo Agribition competition crowned the first ambassador, Ari Dyck. The successful candidate in 2024 was Abbey Harty. To say I am proud of her is an understatement,” Beck said. “Abbey represented Agribition and the Maple Leaf Circuit Finals Rodeo with grace, grit, determination, and undeniable passion. To have our second-ever Miss Rodeo Agribition win Miss Rodeo Canada is surreal.”

Beck said Abbey will excel in representing Canada over the next year.

A new Miss Rodeo Agribition will be crowned on Wednesday, Nov. 26, during the opening night of the Maple Leaf Finals Circuit Rodeo.

Applications for the program are open until Oct. 15 and can be found here.
