Man allegedly removes, burns Nazi flag hung in Kelliher

A Nazi flag flying on top of a home in Kelliher, Sask. was allegedly removed and lit on fire, according to a Facebook post early Saturday morning.

The flag, which was accompanied by a Confederate flag, drew plenty of criticism across the province when photos started circulating on social media Thursday.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, a video posted to Facebook under the name of Caleb Beaudin shows a man holding a Nazi flag on the ground as two others light it on fire.

“Stop racism,” he says before the flames take hold. “It has to end now and not later.”

Beaudin expands on his reasoning in the comments section of the video.

“Considering the amount of First Nation kids that attended that school in (Kelliher), I did it for not only them, but for us and First Nation people, and our people before us,” he said.

A follow-up post stated that Beaudin wasn’t trying to become famous by posting the video.

“That video wasn’t meant for me to go viral,” he said. “People who know me, I ain’t (about) that kind of drama, but I believe that I stood for something right.

“Take me to jail for trying to do right in our community.”

Beaudin has not yet answered 650 CKOM’s request for an interview.

RCMP have not said if Beaudin will face charges.
