Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) have selected Colin Hornby to lead their organization.

KAP President Jill Verwey said they were able to find the right individual from within.

“Following an extensive recruiting process, I am pleased to announce that our Board of Directors has selected Colin Hornby as the new general manager of KAP,” Verwey said.

Hornby has been with the organization since June 2022 in the role of manager, communications and stakeholder relations. Prior to this, he worked in government at both the provincial and federal levels, serving elected officials and providing strategic advice to senior staff and cabinet ministers. He also had a previous career working in human resource management.

Hornby is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as RRC Polytech where he received a certificate in human resource management.

Hornby said he was thrilled to be taking on the new opportunity with KAP.

“Since joining the team, I have been focused on ensuring KAP lives up to our vision of ensuring a prosperous future for all Manitoba farmers,” Hornby said. “I look forward to serving them in this new role and advancing their interests through our continued collaboration and forging of partnerships across the agricultural landscape.”

Hornby replaces Brenna Mahoney who stepped down from the role in November. Mahoney is now the manager of government and public affairs for BASF Canada.
