MELFORT, Sask. – The latest United States Department of Agriculture report released on Friday had little affect on the markets.

The World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates had U.S. corn ending stocks down 150 million bushels which was in line with what was expected.

Brazil’s corn crop was pegged at 109 million metric tonnes which was unchanged from the last report. Soybeans were steady at 136 million metric tonnes.

U.S. wheat ending stocks increased to 852 million bushels.

Canadian wheat exports continue to be strong.

The SaskWheat market report compiled by Mercantile Consulting Venture said exports in week 34 were quite good at 386,000 tonnes. So far this crop year 12.9 million tonnes have been exported which is up 2.9 million or 29 per cent from last year at this time.

The newsletter said dryness is expanding in Argentina and the debate continues about reduced acres due to the weather.
