Listen: Horse cutting; a passion for Saskatchewan teen

Nov 28, 2023 | 3:14 PM

Zoe Schellenberg of Melfort, Sask. was able to share her love for the sport of cutting horses during Agribition in Regina, Sask.

It involves a horse and a rider trying to separate one animal from a herd of cattle.

National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) booth gave the public a chance to sit on a saddle and wear virtual reality goggles to experience what it’s like to show a cutting horse.

The 16-year-old not only participates in the sport but is also the youth director for area 23, all of Saskatchewan, for NCHA.

Alice McFarlane with Ag Access spoke to Zoe about NCHA and her efforts to get more youth involved in the sport.
