A busy week for Saskatchewan farmers
It was a productive week for Saskatchewan farmers, with significant seeding progress.
About 80 per cent of the crop is in the ground, up from 52 per cent last week, according to Crops Extension Specialist Samantha Marcino.
“We did make a 28 per cent jump in per cent complete, so pretty impressive, but we’re still behind the five-year average of 91 per cent and the 10-year average of 92 per cent,” Marcino said.
Marcino said the southern part of the province has seen the most progress.
