An opportunity to learn more about career opportunities in the agriculture and agri-food sector.

The Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) are partnering with Canada’s Farm Show Regina, Sask. to present Launch your Career in AG.

The initiative is designed to address one of the industry’s most pressing challenges, attracting talent to support sector growth while preparing the industry for growing seasons to come, according to Donna Boyd, AMC president.

“In and beyond the field, agriculture is an industry with unparalleled opportunities,” she said. “By increasing awareness and strengthening connections between employers, educators and job seekers, we are creating pathways for individuals to explore dynamic, future-focused careers in agriculture and ag manufacturing.”

Launch Your Career in AG features The Mobile Skills Lab, equipped with virtual reality technology and experiential learning stations. The interactive experience offered via the Lab engages people throughout Saskatchewan at schools, career fairs, trade shows and community events.

The collaboration brings together industry business leaders, academic institutions and government partners to showcase the diverse and rewarding career opportunities within agriculture and agricultural manufacturing. AMC hopes to build awareness of the breadth of opportunities available in the sector, opening minds to the potential a career in agriculture can offer.

Show Director Carla Vipond said Canada’s Farm Show is dedicated to driving innovation and growth for the growing season ahead and the growing seasons to come.

“One of the ways we do this is supporting the next generation of talent,” Vipond said. “Through this initiative, we’re creating valuable connections between job seekers, educators and industry leaders, ensuring a strong and skilled workforce to support the future of agriculture and manufacturing. Launch your Career in AG is designed to directly increase the available workforce entering both careers and educational programs that feed into the agriculture and manufacturing sectors.”

Vipond said agriculture is one of Canada’s most successful industries and plays a vital role in environmental stewardship, global food security and innovation in food production.

Canada’s Farm Show runs Mar. 18 to 20.
