4-H Alberta gets a financial boost from TD Bank Group

Dec 6, 2024 | 10:38 AM

4-H Alberta is receiving new funding from TD Bank Group.

TD Ready Commitment will provide additional financial literacy support and resources to 4-H Alberta members and will help expand their financial knowledge and confidence.

The initial $25,000 will grow to $40,000 the following year, increasing the learning opportunities and resources year over year. The Financial Confidence program aims to break down barriers by providing educational webinars and workshops on financial literacy and confidence, reaching more than 5,700 youth and nearly 4,000 families. The program will help participants understand the importance of financial literacy and how it relates to our communities.

The 4-H Alberta Financial Confidence webinar series will begin in January, with three webinars scheduled between January and March and at least one in-person workshop scheduled for later in the year.

Robert Ghazal, Senior Vice President and Alberta Region Head, TD Bank Group said it is pleased to expand its programming for youth and families.

“Through the TD Ready Commitment – our corporate citizenship platform – we’re supporting educational initiatives focused on improving financial knowledge and money management skills,” Ghazal said.

Kurt Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer at 4-H Alberta, said with the support of TD Bank Group, members can gain financial confidence and literacy and continue to use those learnings as they apply them to their everyday lives.

“A strong understanding of financial literacy will support our members in their various life goals, whether taking on the role of treasurer with their local club, saving for post-secondary education, or planning to start an investment,” Kinnear said. “The Financial Confidence Program helps to ensure our members are set up for success as they grow into the future leaders of tomorrow.”
