Agriculture Roundup for Monday March 23, 2020
The Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) said it’s working to ensure both stable beef production and trade during and following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a news release, CCA stated there were no fundamental changes to the export and import of food and livestock related to the outbreak.
There have been no reports of livestock being infected with COVID-19, nor any evidence to support that domestic animals can spread the virus.
CCA said beef producers should continue normal bio-security measures on their operations and exercise good hygiene practices by washing hands and disinfecting surfaces often.
