More work needed to solve seed royalty debate

Farm groups believe more consultation is needed before any changes are made to funding for research and variety development.

The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS), Alberta Federation of Agriculture and the Keystone Agricultural Producers of Manitoba accepted responses to a survey on the proposed models.

APAS President Todd Lewis presented the results at the CropSphere conference in Saskatoon this week.

Lewis said two-thirds of respondents were opposed to both concepts.
