Sask ag office moves to Humboldt

Dec 18, 2019 | 11:30 AM

The Ministry of Agriculture will move its extension services from Watrous to Humboldt in the new year.

Agriculture Minister David Marit said establishing an office in Humboldt will bring the ministry and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation services together in the same community.

“The City of Humboldt is a strong agricultural hub in Saskatchewan and the agri-environmental programming and extension services offered by regional specialists will serve the area well,” Marit said in a news release.

Staff currently employed in Watrous will continue in their roles in Humboldt.

The ministry has 10 regional offices in the province, staffed with specialists who provide assistance on production information, funding programs and research findings.

The move will happen in March 2020.
