The Member of Parliament for Prince Albert has been appointed to the Conservative’s shadow cabinet.

Randy Hoback said he will be working on the international trade portfolio.

“As it accounts for almost two thirds of our GDP, Canada’s economy is extremely reliant on trade and there is much work to be done to ensure that our trading relationships around the world are diversified and protected,” he said.

Hoback said he will work with the Conservative team to ensure that the Trudeau Liberals are held to account and while urging them to take the necessary actions required to regain and maintain the market access.

The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity (CCFI) has appointed five new members to its board.

The new members include James Donaldson, the CEO of BC Food and Beverage, Mike Dungate the former Executive Director with Chicken Farmers of Canada, Darlene McBain with Farm Credit Canada, President and CEO of Restaurants Canada Shanna Munro and Janet Riley with Maple Leaf Foods.

CCFI board chair Kim McConnell said these individuals are well-respected in their professions with strong connections across Canada’s food system and all are committed to advancing public trust in Canada’s agriculture and food industry.
