Throne speech supported by RM’s
The group that represents the province’s rural municipalities is encouraged by the throne speech.
The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) President Ray Orb said there is a need to be connected to the rest of the world. He said the Wireless Saskatchewan’s initiative will spend $50 million to further increase coverage in rural areas.
“As municipal leaders we understand the effort required to effect change,” Orb said in a news release. “As an association we are committed to advancing priorities for our membership to create a strong and diverse rural Saskatchewan.”
The provincial government announced it’s continued support of Saskatchewan Crime Watch. Orb said SARM has played a key role in the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network, Rural Crime Watch and the Protection and Response Team.
