Viterra is continuing its partnership with STARS air ambulance to sponsor its 2020 fundraising calendar.

Viterra has sponsored the calendar campaign since 2015 by covering the full printing costs of each of the more than 65,000 calendars sold across Western Canada every year.

The calendars will be available for purchase at most Viterra facilities in Western Canada.

The federal government will contribute $4.6 million to the Food and Beverage Cluster through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership’s AgriScience Program.

The cluster will support research on product and technology innovations in cereals, oats, pulses and new ingredients that serve as natural preservatives.

The projects will also focus on the development of innovative alternatives in frozen food safety practices to help extend shelf-life.

The cluster will include an additional $2 million in contributions from industry.

Avena Foods recently released a video celebrating safe, healthy, sustainable oat and pulse ingredients from the farm gate to your plate.

Customer and Farmer Appreciation Day video featured a tour of Cody and Sheena Ermel’s organic farm in Bethune. After lunch the afternoon was spent viewing test plots and equipment.

Avena Foods’ first ever appreciation award was made to Shelley Case, international celiac and gluten-free expert, consulting dietitian, and author.
