Crop report

Harvest behind five year average

Aug 15, 2019 | 5:37 PM

Despite rain delays, producers have started combining with just one per cent of the crop in the bin.

The latest crop report indicates this is slightly behind the five year average.

Looking at the numbers, 17 per cent of the fall rye, 14 per cent of the winter wheat, three per cent of the field peas and one per cent of the lentils are now in storage.

Harvest progress is most advanced in the southeast and southwest regions where one per cent of the crop is now combined.
