Fewer crop hail damage claims in Saskatchewan
The fourth week in July saw a big drop in crop hail damage claims across Saskatchewan.
Canadian Crop Hail Association President Rick Omelchenko said in the previous report there were 3,000 claims across the prairies with 1,200 in Saskatchewan. He said that changed significantly in the last update.
“We had a lot less then we had the previous week we’re around 300 plus claims,” Omelchenko said. “It was mostly in Landis, North Battleford, Battleford, Davidson, Simpson, Cupar, Southey, Mossbank, Assiniboia, Gull Lake, Canora, Cutknife, Spiritwood, Elrose. It was pretty wide spread again.”
Omelchenko said there were a number of storms but they were less intense.
