Having the right employees on the farm has always been an ongoing challenge.
A new study said the agriculture labour shortage is significant.
Debra Hauer is with the Canadian Agriculture Human Resource Council and said Saskatchewan agriculture is unique.
“We estimated that Saskatchewan lost $575 million in lost sales because there were not the workers that were needed in Saskatchewan representing about four per cent of the total farm cash receipts for the province,” Hauer said.
