Co-op Feeds Plant

Melfort plant to close this summer

May 13, 2019 | 3:46 PM

The restructuring of Co-op Feeds facilities on the prairies will mean the closure of its Melfort plant.

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) said in a news release it is consolidating feed production from six facilities to three in Saskatoon, Calgary and Moosomin.

Federated is transitioning products and services from the Melfort and Brandon plants to the remaining three locations.

The Melfort plant will wind down in August, the Brandon plant will cease operations in October while FCL’s other feed facility in Edmonton will transfer its operations to Wetaskiwin Co-op in September.

FCL feed plants manufacture cattle, horse, sheep and poultry feed in bags and bulk orders.
