The Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame (SAHF) took care of some business before the annual induction ceremony.

In a news release, the results of the board of director elections were announced. Reed Andrew of Regina was re-elected President. Andrew, who represents Canadian Western Agribition, first joined the board in 2011.

Member at-large Richard Porter remains first vice president while Blair Cummins with Saskatchewan Municipal Hall was elected second vice president.

Joining the board is Karen Gerwing of the Saskatchewan Women’s Institute. Returning to the board are Brian Sim who is a member-at-large, Judy Stevenson with the Association of Saskatchewan Home Economists and Jim Sawatsky representing the Saskatchewan Horse Federation.

Directors are elected by the membership for three-year terms, with elections held annually for one-third of the board.

Six individuals will be formally inducted to the SAHF at a ceremony on April 27. The 2019 class includes Neil Shantz, Roger Pederson, Chantelle Donahue, Arnold Petracek, Clarence Hookenson and Daniel Prefontaine.

Nominations to the Hall of Fame must be received by Sept. 1 to be considered for induction the following year. Portraits and biographies of each inductee are on display in a gallery on the upper level of the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon.

The SAHF recognizes individuals making significant and distinguished contributions to the welfare and improvement of Saskatchewan agriculture.
