Agrimex gearing up for family friendly installment of show

Apr 2, 2019 | 1:05 PM

Over 5,000 consumers are expected for the Agrimex show in just two days’ time.

The show has been running for 33 years, and this year’s edition promises to add a new family element to the three-day expo. Along with over 100 exhibitors, this year’s edition will include bouncy castles, pony rides and a full petting zoo. General Manager of the Battlefords Ag Society, Jocelyn Ritchie, said she’s excited to bring the family element.

“I think it should bring a lot of younger people out. Everyone can see what we have to offer here it the Battlefords,” she said.

Ritchie added there will be a booth set up for children to take Easter photos with a live bunny.

Ritchie added said there will be a lot of the same from years’ past, with a mix of new exhibitors coming to the Battlefords to show off new gadgets and technologies.

The pancake breakfast was moved to the Agrivilla this year, and both the Agriplex and Agrivilla will have exhibitors showcasing their products. The breakfast will be held on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. for the general public.

The event starts on Thursday at noon, and runs until 8 p.m. On Friday, the show will run from noon to 8 p.m. as well, and Sunday will be a full day, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
