Snacks for Students

A snack program at a Melfort school is being expanded thanks to a donation from Corteva Agriscience.

The Growing Today, Leading Tomorrow program sent $2,000 to Maude Burke School.

In a news release, Corteva Agriscience’s Territory Manager Mike Edwards said all 225 students at the school will benefit.

“We’re proud to lend our support to Maude Burke School’s universal snack program,” Edwards said. “As a company, we understand that proper nutrition is critical for children to reach their full potential.”

Outreach worker with Maude Burke School Brandi Moskal said there is significant need in the school and the benefit of this type of program is that all students are provided with the same snack every day.

“Our ultimate goal is to be able to offer a universal snack program five days a week so that no child has to be hungry at school.”

Phillip Mansiere Enterprises, a local Pioneer Hi-Bred sales representative, endorsed the grant.
