Agriculture Day

Celebrating agriculture in Canada

Feb 11, 2019 | 12:25 PM

February 12 is Agriculture Day.

It’s a time to share what’s happening in the industry and create closer connection to consumers.

Activities are being planned to bring awareness to the industry. Included will be open houses held by the Ministry of Agriculture and crop insurance offices.

Across the province, several locations are set to screen the documentary Before the Plate. The film features John Horne, the head chef of the downtown Toronto restaurant, as he follows each of 10 ingredients featured at his restaurant back to the farmers who grew the food.

The movie screenings will take place on Feb. 12:

  • Saskatchewan PolyTech Campus 1100 15th St.E., Prince Albert. 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Weyburn Public Library (downstairs room) 45 Bison Ave., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Kindersley Mall 608 12th Ave. E., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with a chili cook-off.
