The annual Ag in Motion outdoor farm expo gets underway this week, showcasing the latest in farming technology and offering a host of learning and networking opportunities for farmers, businesses, and ag enthusiasts.

The event runs Tuesday to Thursday northwest of Saskatoon. With more than 455 businesses registered for the demonstration and trade show portion, the fourth-annual Ag in Motion expo is expected to be the biggest one yet, according to Show Director Rob O’Connor.

“This year is a phenomenal year for us,” he told farmnewsNOW. “This is a venue where companies and commodity groups can showcase some of their new technology or some of the new processes with farmers and industry.”

The outdoor event is located along Highway 16 approximately seven kilometres from the community of Langham. The expo has become the largest outdoor farm show in western Canada, and O’Connor said organizers are expecting between 25,000 and 30,000 people to come through the gates during the three-day show.

This year’s show will feature an array of new equipment demonstrations, seminars, product launches, live field and crop demonstrations, and interactive exhibits across 320 acres of land, O’Connor said. Other topics such as carbon credits, fencing, succession planning, research, forage, agronomy, water quality, and livestock are also on the agenda.

“People like to get together and talk about the industry, and so we also are a venue for those types of social networking opportunities, whether it’s an advancement in career for young people or even farmers discussing how they can improve their operations and bounce it off their colleagues in the industry,” O’Connor added.

Tickets for Ag in Motion are available online, or at the gates.
