Woman dead, 1 in hospital after semi, tractor crash on Hwy 16

A 55-year-old woman is dead after the tractor she was on collided with a semi north of Saskatoon Monday.

A spokesperson with Medavie Health Services told 650 CKOM a semi struck a tractor near the intersection of highways 16 and 305.

The 55-year-old woman was on the tractor with a man of the same age. He was taken by ambulance to a Saskatoon hospital where he is in stable condition.

The semi driver is not hurt.

Police said the northbound lanes of Highway 16 would be blocked until further notice, with traffic detoured into the southbound lanes.
