The Brandt Group of Companies announced the acquisition of Nortrax, taking over John Deere Construction and Forestry dealerships in Eastern Canada.

Brandt will operate 56 Deere-owned Nortrax locations in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The deal is subject to further regulatory approvals but is expected to close on Oct. 25.

The Brandt head office is located in Regina.

Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan (AITC) will receive funding to further education on climate change.

The federal government will provide roughly $97,000 to allow the organization to connect kids to the environment and foster awareness.

AITC will reach 18,000 Canadians annually to gain a better understanding of the factors that contribute to climate change and offer the tools to integrate garden-based sustainability learning into the classroom.

Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) has announced new programming focusing on families.

Agribition Altitude Motocross is bringing X-Games stunt riders to the Brandt Centre. The freestyle motocross show will also offer meet and greet opportunities with the performers, including the sport’s youngest athlete at just five years old.

CWA is also announcing the return of some fan favourite programming including Goat Yoga and the Party on the Dirt cabaret which takes place on the Brandt Centre floor immediately following the last Maple Leaf Finals rodeo performance on Nov. 30.

CWA has also introduced new ticketing options to make Agribition an affordable and accessible option for families.

Updated family ticket packages for CWA 2019 as general admission and select tickets are now on sale.

CWA 2019 runs Nov. 25 to Nov. 30
