Saskatchewan CanolaPalooza set for next week

Jul 5, 2019 | 1:11 PM

Producers will converge at the Agri-food Canada Research Station near Saskatoon for the third annual Saskatchewan CanolaPalooza.

The outdoor in-field event features the latest in canola research and agronomy throughout the day on Tuesday.

Communications Manager for SaskCanola, Ellen Grueter said it’s a big day for the producers in the province and the canola industry.

“We have 14 learning stations and over 80 speakers coming,” Grueter said. “They will extend canola, agronomy and research information to farmers and agronomists.”

The day is an opportunity for farmers to liaise with top notch experts in the canola industry according to Grueter.

A new addition this year is the crop rotation stations that highlight the pros, challenges and solutions to rotating canola with wheat, barley, flax, peas and quinoa.

“In addition to the agronomy and research information that will be shared, there are a variety of other stations to visit,” Grueter said.

The Canadian Ag Safety Association will also be on hand as well as Diabetes Saskatchewan on site.

Pre-registrations are encouraged at SaskCanola.com. Walk-ups will also be accepted.
