Saskatchewan sheep industry strong as demand grows
Saskatchewan’s sheep industry is experiencing some strong demand for their product.
Vice-President of the Saskatchewan Sheep Breeders Association Trevor Bigoraj said they’re fresh off a successful event held earlier this month in Humboldt that saw lots of interest.
Grasslands Expo takes place in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board.
About 300 animals were featured at the event, and about 130 producers took part. A trade show and auction were also held, with about 150 head of purebred and commercial sheep and lamb sold. He said attendance was strong at the Humboldt event, with a sold-out lamb banquet.
