The provincial government will be putting $8.3 million into water management projects.

Rural municipalities, conservation and development area authorities and watershed associations will get $600,000 to clean out channels.

Water management projects dealing with erosion control will receive $1.5 million. There will also be money for flood mapping.

Work will begin immediately.

A national campaign has been launched to connect consumers to the Canadian food system.

It’s Good, Canada was launched by the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity (CCFI).

It features personal stories of farmers, truck drivers, retail, processing, and production workers.

It’s Good, Canada also aims to provide credible resources for Canadians to source fact-based information.

CCFI said the past few months have been difficult for all Canadians who have had to adapt and work through significant challenges.

Another important tool for wheat farmers is now available.

Sask Wheat’s fusarium head blight (FHB) risk maps help producers identify if conditions are favourable for infection in their area.

The maps help producers determine if the application of a fungicide is necessary.

The FHB risk maps are generated daily through June and July.

The Sask Wheat semi-annual meeting usually held in June at Canada’s Farm Show in Regina, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials said they will continue to plan producer extension meetings in the fall and spring.
