Feds & Manitoba providing $1.9M for sustainable farming projects
The federal government and the Manitoba government are partnering to support sustainable farming in the province.
The two are combining to provide $1.9 million through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) to fund 54 projects.
“As good stewards of the land, Manitoba producers are prepared to embrace new, proactive on-farm projects that help mitigate the effects of climate change,” said Lawrence MacAulay, Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
There are two types of projects which can receive funding: watershed resilience and carbon sequestration and grassland resilience.
