Cereal grading discussed at Sask Wheat meeting

Producers are being hurt by a grading factor called falling number.
The test is used by the grain industry to determine potential or possible sprout damage in cereal grains. Grain with low FN is discounted because of its reduced value to the baking industry.
Low falling numbers has been a concern this year with harvest, which has been delayed by excessive moisture.
Radisson area farmer Corey Loessin told Alice McFarlane with Ag Access he feels farmers are being graded unfairly.
