Agriculture Roundup for Wednesday, Sept. 25

Sep 25, 2019 | 10:00 AM

Hail adjusters continued to be busy during this month.

Minor to heavy hail damage occurred in the first two weeks of September.

Canadian Crop Hail Association companies are investigating more than 300 claims in Saskatchewan alone.

CCHA President Rick Omelchenko said with harvest in full swing farmers need to be sure they’re leaving an adequate sample for adjusters.

“I really recommend calling your CCHA company that you are insured with and really find out what they actually want,” Omelchenko said.

He said companies are maximizing all available adjusters so claims can be serviced as quickly as possible.

Saying thank you to farmers and ranchers.

The annual Steaks and Stems producer appreciation nights are being held next month in Tisdale, Prince Albert and North Battleford.

Along with supper there will be a keynote speaker. Cherilyn Nagel will discuss the importance of public trust within the agriculture industry.

For more information and to purchase tickets contact the Tisdale Regional Office at 878-8841.

The events will be Oct. 28 in Tisdale, Oct. 29 in Prince Albert and Oct. 30 in North Battleford.
