About 30,000 people are expected to pass through the gates of Ag in Motion over the three days.

The uncertainty over the future for Canada’s canola going to China has been on farmers’ minds.

Spencer James, who works on a canola farm, said some farmers are so worried about the situation that they’ve cutback on canola acres.

China banned canola from Canadian firms Richardson and Viterra in March.

Market analyst Mike Jubinville said the problem is out of farmers’ control.

The federal government will spend $11 million on the dairy research cluster.

Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau made the announcement at the Dairy Farmers of Canada annual meeting in Saskatoon.

Sask Milk Policy Manager Joy Smith said it’s important research.

The Conservation Learning Centre (CLC) will be holding its annual field day tomorrow.

Tours will include methods to control flea beetles without neonics, intercropping, farmer saved wheat, barley and forages. New this year are new horticulture trials that include haskap, carrots, cucumbers and beet varieties.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the tours to follow.

CLC is located 18 kilometers south of Prince Albert.
