Ag in Motion (AIM) is underway near Langham.

Over the next three days, 30,000 people are expected to visit the show. There are a record 552 exhibits and 30 food vendors on site.

The site itself is 100 acres of trade show space and 100 acres for equipment demonstrations with 60 acres for parking.

There was a sigh of relief when the rains finally came to the area. But that may make for difficult conditions on the site.

Show manager Rob O’Connor said he is confident the grounds will hold up if there is more rain.

As far as access to the show, O’Conner said returning visitors will notice some changes getting on to the site. The speed limit near the show will be reduced to 80 km/h on Highway 16 with one way access on the main grid road.

There are several international guests at AIM. The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) sponsored innovation awards to encourage companies from other countries to come to Saskatchewan. SREDA Executive Director Alex Fallon said thirty applications were received and the seven winners are attending AIM. The winners were from the U.S., Iceland, United kingdom, the Netherlands and France. They will be featured at booth #Ag17.

The Field of Stars fundraiser for STARS Air Ambulance goes tonight with a supper and performance by the Hunter Brothers.

AIM closes for the day at 4:30 p.m. and continues tomorrow and Thursday.

Prairie farm groups want to hear from producers on the touchy subject of seed royalties.

APAS President Todd Lewis said the federal government’s two proposed options have not been well received by farmers and his group wants more input.

Farmers can access the survey through the APAS website. They can also stop by the APAS Booth at Ag in Motion to learn more.
