Reaction to suspension of canola exports

Mar 6, 2019 | 4:09 PM

As China suspended canola imports from Canadian company Richardson International, agriculture groups and government officials were quick to respond to the news.

The issue was discussed in the legislature yesterday.

Premier Scott Moe said the province has already contacted federal government officials.

“We have communicated with Richardson themselves to work with our nation and work with our agricultural industry and to work with our trading partners as we always have to ensure that we’re able to get through this challenge and that we’re able to access markets around the world including those of so much importance in China.” Moe said.
