Case involving death of Prince Albert man moves to preliminary hearing

Three days have been set aside this week for a preliminary hearing involving a Prince Albert man, charged in the shooting death of another hunter…

Austyn Adamko has been charged with four offences including criminal negligence causing death, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Prince Albert’s Jordan Darchuk was killed in September 2017 south of Weirdale. Members of his family are in court for the hearing this week, which is being held in Nipawin.

The purpose of the preliminary hearing is to test if the evidence is strong enough for the case to go to trial.
